Frog Soup

In Thailand the local people are known for using local ingredients or available foods and making what might be considered exotic dishes. Snake soup is common as well as frog soup.

The frog is important for the hill tribe people, the Karen. They more recently came from Northern Mynamar and hence Thai Frog soup is more to do with Myanmar, and many of the people that live in the northern parts of Thailand near Chiang Mai have roots to the Myanmar culture.

It is interesting to note that many of the Kettle drums found through out south east asia have images of frogs on them.
