Chromium

Chromium is poorly absorbed because only 0.4% to 2.5% of dietary chromium is absorbed from the small intestine, a process that is not fully understood but involves passive diffusion. Absorption can be inhibited by Phytates and a high intake of refined sugars, while factors such as Vitamin C and Niacin can improve it.
