These three young Westerners told me they never read the Herald Tribune before; until they had arrived in Bali, where this photograph was taken.

I usually read the Herald Tribune, but mostly online. These English boys are sitting in a café in a place called Jimbaron several hours from Pandagbai. They told me they have never before read  it (The International Herald Tribune) before. I think most people should read it and discover what a mess the world is in.

Pandagbai, the village I lived in has a few interesting stories that would fit well with that newspapers theme. For example, a Californian architect recently had 25 small villas built in the village. I was told they were designed to fit 2 people and the land was bought originally for $60. The villas were put up and all have been sold. They cost about $ 40,000 to make and sold $200,000 for each villa. Balinese are still working at $3 a day in this village.
